Property for sale in Adeje . . .
If you are interested in buying property in the south of Tenerife, Crossley, Morfitt & Lennox Estate Agents have a wide range of property for sale in Adeje.
Adeje is a wonderful municipality that is located close to Playa de Las Americas and Los Cristianos. The area of Adeje is considered to be an up market resort. Originally it was known for its agriculture and fishing economy but now it boasts plenty of lovely restaurants and bars. An essential part of Tenerife's history can be found in Adeje, many important archaeological sites have been discovered here including the funeral caves that are linked to Tenerife's original inhabitants, the Guanche. A visit to the nearby Barranco del Infierno, which translates into English as "Hell's Gorge", is also a highly recommended experience.
This brilliant resort has the best of both worlds, it can be peaceful and quiet, getting you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and it can come alive at night. The nightlife here is much more sophisticated than the neighbouring town of Las Americas.
There are several beaches close by to the resort, including small and secluded dark sandy coves or long stretches of white fine beaches. Playa de Las Americas beach, Adeje, is a blue flag beach where you will find lots of water sports available like parasailing, several diving clubs and typical holiday sports like the ringo's and banana boats, as well as peddlo's and wet biking. There are a lot of restaurants and bars along the front, sunbeds, changing rooms, showers and toilets.
A wide pedestrian only promenade runs along the full length of the beaches along this coastline. This promenade actually begins at Los Cristianos in the east and continues for several miles right through the heart of Playa de Las Americas, through Costa Adeje, and ultimately onto the resort of La Caleta in the west. It is a clean and easily accessible pathway, studded along the way with pieces of art, architecture and the local fauna and flora of Tenerife, as if the magnificent views were not enough!
The old town of Adeje, which is the administrative centre for this part of the island, clings to the side of the mountain and this is where you can sample a taste of the Canarian culture and a different side of Tenerife.
